South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has established a ministerial task team to coordinate government's response to the economic fallout from the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, as rising global oil prices continue to drive up local fuel costs. This was revealed by Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni during a post-Cabinet media briefing in the capital Tshwane on Thursday. Escalating tensions involving Israel, the United States and Iran have disrupted global crude oil supply chains, placing further pressure on fuel prices in South Africa.
