The Nations Extension for Community Health Outcomes commonly known as Project ECHO says it has assisted to date more than 200 million patients in nearly 200 countries.

They have achieved this by working with a virtual mentoring approach that is cost-effective and can be implemented immediately.

Female researchers from the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) this morning held a media briefing on groundbreaking technologies aimed at combating plastic pollution.

Plastic pollution is an issue of global concern and evidence-based solutions are in short supply.

The researchers have shared innovations aimed at addressing plastic-related concerns across the entire life cycle of plastic products.

Their work aims to reduce reliance on traditional plastics and promote sustainable plastic circularity.

Tanzanian police have detained leading opposition Chadema party figures including former presidential candidate Tundu Lissu.

Police are also reportedly holding a group of young people who'd planned to attend the gathering later today.

Those arrested are accused of planning violent demonstrations.

South Africa's political party and member of the government of Unity, the Democratic Alliance, has raised concerns regarding the high number of unresolved sexual offences cases without being finalized.

If one breaks the numbers down, approximately 974 cases of rape and sexual assault are closed without result every month.  

This means that an average of about 32 victims of rape and sexual assault lose a chance at obtaining justice every day.
