Law enforcement authorities in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) remain on high alert following the overnight escape of an estimated 50 inmates from Luebo Prison, in Kasai Province between Thursday and Friday. Luebo Territorial Administrator Jean Tshiawuke wa Tshiawuke said security personnel are suspected of aiding the jailbreak, allowing all the prisoners to escape. He warned that several of the fugitives are considered dangerous and could pose a significant threat to public safety.
