With five days remaining in the current two-week ceasefire between the United States (US) and Iran, US President Donald Trump says the two sides are very close to reaching a deal, with talks expected to resume as early as this weekend. Also, Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a 10-day ceasefire ahead of a planned meeting between their leaders next week.
Meanwhile, the leaders of France and the United Kingdom are set to convene with dozens of countries, excluding the US, today to advance plans to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
