Healthcare workers in the Democratic Republic of Congo have embarked on strike action over delayed salary payments, raising concerns that the protest could undermine efforts to contain the country's Ebola outbreak, which health officials say continues to spread faster than response measures. The strike coincides with the start of enrolment for clinical trials evaluating treatments for the Bundibugyo strain of the Ebola virus, which is responsible for the current outbreak.
