Healthcare Workers 4 Palestine - South Africa has strongly condemned recent attacks on civilian sites and health facilities in Iran, saying they constitute violations of international humanitarian law. The organisation states that the strikes, allegedly carried out by the United States and Israel on 28 February 2026, damaged several health centres, including hospitals, and resulted in civilian casualties.
HCW4P‑SA says attacks on healthcare facilities and workers undermine protections guaranteed under international law and place vulnerable communities at even greater risk. Lulu Gaboo spoke to Professor Hassan Mahomed from Healthcare Workers for Palestine South Africa.
