A report by Greenpeace Africa and the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) shows that air pollution has become a devastating and avoidable public health crisis in South Africa. It claims that 42,000 South Africans including 1300 children under the age of five lost their lives due to exposure to fine particle pollution in 2023 alone.
