The Forum for South Africa (SA) is threatening legal action against the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs and the Government of National Unity.

This follows yet another incident where a child allegedly consumed harmful snacks from an unregistered spaza shop in Soweto, Gauteng.

Forum SA threatens legal action after child dies from spaza shop snacks

Bellarmine Chatunga Mugabe, the son of former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe and a co‑accused have appeared in a South African court after their arrest last week. Bellarmine and his co-accused were arrested after a 23-year-old gardener was shot twice at Mugabe's Hyde Park residence and remain in a critical condition.

Gauteng police Spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says the pair face attempted‑murder charges and another charge of defeating the end of justice.

 Lulu Gaboo spoke to SABC reporter, Thabiso Radebe who was at the court and former Interpol ambassador, Andy Mashaile.

Bellarmine Mugabe, co-accused appears in court on two charges

A two-day joint meeting of the Ministers of Health and other Ministers responsible for HIV and AIDS within the Southern African Development Community (SADC) is beginning today in Johannesburg, South Africa (SA). 

The meeting is set to discuss a number of priority health issues, review progress made on regional health commitments and strengthen collaboration in addressing shared public health challenges.  Lulu Gaboo spoke to the Director for Africa and Middle East Relations at SA's National Department of Health Dr Moeketsi Modisenyane

Two-day joint meeting of Health Ministers within SADC  underway in SA

A fire swept through the Al-Omda displacement camp in North Darfur, in Sudan, leaving at least 60 families without shelter.

The cause of the fire remains unknown. Earlier reports from the International Organization for Migration (IOM),  indicated that at least 237 families were affected and over 150 shelters destroyed.
