The Eswatini government has denied reports that the Southern African Development Community Electoral Advisory Council Mission was met with hostility in the country. 

The mission is in Eswatini to inspect for  the country's conducive environment to hold peaceful elections in September.

According to a diplomats statement,  the mission was not invited by the Government of the country.

UNICEF warns an entire generation of children in Sudan face catastrophe as war enters second year. On April 15, 2023, clashes erupted between the Sudanese Army and a rival group known as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, and quickly spread to other regions of the country. One year later, 14 million children in Sudan remain in desperate need of humanitarian assistance. Famine is looking increasingly likely, especially in Darfur, Khartoum and Kordofan, all conflict hotspots.

An entire generation of children in Sudan face catastrophe: UNICEF

South African (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa is in South Sudan on a three day working visit. Ramaphosa is expected to receive a detailed briefing from the President of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit on the status of the implementation of the Revitalised Agreement on the Resolution of Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan  which was signed on 12 September 2018. The agreement will expire on February 22, 2025, and must be preceded by elections in December 2024.
