Heavy rains and thunderstorms are sweeping across many parts of South Africa, with disaster management teams on high alert.
The South African Weather Service has issued severe weather warnings, including a Level 8 alert for the KwaZulu-Natal province, where widespread flooding is expected. Inland provinces, like the Gauteng province, are also bracing for the impact of disruptive downpours.
