Tundu Lissu, leader of CHADEMA, Tanzania's largest opposition party, has now spent a year in prison facing treason charges that could carry the death penalty.

Yesterday, CHADEMA held a virtual memorial, turning what could have been a sombre occasion into a powerful rallying call for democratic resistance.
Lulu Gaboo spoke to Chadema Spokesperson, Brenda Rupiah.
