It's time now for our weekly profile interview here on The Discourse. Today, we're looking at the role of young people in shaping the future of democracy, particularly the push for greater accountability and a stronger voice in decision-making. Across Africa, young people are increasingly demanding a greater role in shaping policies that affect their lives and their futures. Our guest is Munashe Cuthbert Masiyiwa, Founder and Executive Director of the Youth Accountability Initiative in Zimbabwe, a youth-led organisation focused on public finance accountability, natural resource governance, climate action and development financing. A data scientist, economist and governance advocate, he is also one of the finalists for the 2026 Kofi Annan NextGen Democracy Prize. Munashe Cuthbert Masiyiwa joins us now live from here in Johannesburg.
