World Autism Day calls for inclusion as barriers persist for autistic people worldwide

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) held an emergency meeting on Tuesday, requested by France and Indonesia, after three UN peacekeepers were killed in southern Lebanon within a 24-hour period. Jean-Pierre Lacroix, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations, cautioned that violence along the Lebanon-Israel border is escalating marked by intensified clashes, daily rocket attacks, air strikes, and increased troop movements near the Blue Line. The Police Commissioner of South Africa's Western Cape province, Thembisile Patekile, says they'll continue their operations with soldiers in gang-infested areas on the Cape Flats. The army and police members conducted search operations in Tafelsig in Mitchell's Plain today as part of Operation Prosper as today marks the first day of the deployment of the army to crime-ridden areas on the Cape Flats. The operation will assist the South African Police Service in combating gang violence and illegal mining.
