The Police Commissioner of South Africa's Western Cape province, Thembisile Patekile, says they'll continue their operations with soldiers in gang-infested areas on the Cape Flats. The army and police members conducted search operations in Tafelsig in Mitchell's Plain today as part of Operation Prosper as today marks the first day of the deployment of the army to crime-ridden areas on the Cape Flats. The operation will assist the South African Police Service in combating gang violence and illegal mining.
