UNAIDS: Eastern and Southern Africa cuts HIV infections and AIDS deaths by 62% since 2010

Four decades into the global HIV response, Eastern and Southern Africa has made significant progress in reducing new infections and AIDS-related deaths. A new UNAIDS Special Report, launched ahead of the 26th International AIDS Conference, shows a 62-percent decline in both new HIV infections and AIDS-related deaths in the region since 2010. But UNAIDS says that progress remains fragile, with millions of people still living with HIV and prevention and treatment programmes facing challenges. Channel Africa's Lebogang Mabange reports...
