South Africa seeks billions in Chinese investment to modernise energy infrastructure

South Africa is seeking to deepen its energy partnership with China as it looks to attract billions of rand in investment to modernise its electricity infrastructure and support the transition to cleaner energy. Electricity and Energy Minister Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa is leading a high-level delegation to Beijing for the South Africa-China Electricity and Energy Investment Conference, where government officials will present investment-ready projects and hold talks with Chinese partners on financing, technology and infrastructure development.
