SA's Wits University unveils Anglo-American Digital Dome, a cutting-edge 360-degree digital experience

The South African government will now establish another crisis committee to deal with water problems facing the country.

That's according to the minister in the presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni who briefed the media on Wednesday regarding the outcomes of cabinet meetings that took place recently.

Ntshavheni says this committee will come up with an action plan to resolve the nation-wide water problems.

She also took a hard stance against Mozambicans who have been protesting the outcome of the national election in the past weeks.

Johan Marais, one of the four former police officers accused of the 1987 murder of anti-apartheid activist Caiphus Nyoka, pleaded guilty to the murder charge in a High Court in South Africa's capital Pretoria this week.

The court convicted Marais on the basis of his guilty plea and postponed the proceedings to 27 January 2025 for sentencing.

The murder trial of the three remaining co-accused-Leon Louis Van Den Berg, Abram Hercules Engelbrecht, and Pieter Stander is scheduled to begin next week at the Gauteng High Court.

The trial is expected to conclude by December 2024.

The Nyoka family, the Foundation for Human Rights, and Webber Wentzel have welcomed the guilty plea.  

To talk further on this Mosa Leteane, who is with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's programme called "Unfinished Business" within the Foundation for Human Rights joined Peter Ndoro.

Former apartheid cop back pleads guilty to the murder of anti-apartheid activist

South Africa's home affairs minister Dr. Leon Shrieber says that he is pleased with the achievements made by the Border Management Authority (BMA) since its inception over a year ago.

Shrieber was speaking on during the opening of the inaugural Border Management Conference and Expo held on Tuesday at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in South Africa's capital of Pretoria in the Gauteng region.

Throughout the day, industry experts discussed critical role of border management in protecting national security, including the challenges posed by terrorism, trafficking, and organized crime.
