Police in South Africa's Mpumalanga province say investigations are underway after the suspected rhino poaching kingpin Joseph "Big Joe" Nyalungu was shot and killed on Saturday. The 62-year-old was allegedly ambushed by two armed men at his business premises in Mkhuhlu, near Hazyview. Nyalungu is believed to have been a key figure in a major rhino poaching syndicate operating across Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal and Limpopo provinces.
