South Africa's seventh parliament is due to be sworn in after the country's apex court dismissed a bid by former President Jacob Zuma's party, the MK, to stop the assembly's first sitting.  This parliament with elect the Speaker, the deputy speaker and the country's president. The governing African National Congress for the first time since 1994 - when the late Nelson Mandela ushered the country into democracy, failed to get enough votes to govern alone, so the party proposed a Government of National Unity...forcing them to look for coalition partners. The ANC got about 40% of the vote, with the centre-right Democratic Alliance (DA) on 22%, the MK party on 15% and the radical Economic Freedom Fighters on 9%.
