Mauritius pre election analysis

South Africa's National Association of School Governing Bodies, NASGB, says government is not doing enough to ensure the safety of residents of townships.

The association has called on the government to urgently investigate who is behind the food poisoning incidents.

This as the country sees a rises in deaths related to food poisoning, especially among children.

The latest incident involves a ten-year-old girl from Alexander township in northern Johannesburg.

SA Government not doing enough to ensure the safety of residents of townships: NASGB

The Mauritian government has come under fire for the November 1st social media ban which it later lifted after pressure from across all sectors of the country, ahead of the island's November 10th polls.

The government has said it imposed as a result of what it called a cyber-terrorism risk.

The restrictions were ordered by country's communications regulator following a wiretapping scandal that shook the country, where about 20 leaked conversations involving politicians, police, lawyers, journalists, and civil society members have surfaced on social media.

The Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Igor Sir-je-yenko has called for the total removal of economic sanctions imposed by the West on Zimbabwe.

He delivered the keynote address at the opening of the Fourth Ordinary Session of the Sixth Parliament of the Pan-African Parliament in Midrand South Africa. Channel Africa's Nhlanhla Mahlangu reports.
