One of those businesses is ING Travel & Tours, a Durban-based tour operating company that offers experiences ranging from cultural and township tours to wildlife and historical attractions across the province. Senior parliamentarians, ministers, and global health leaders are gathering in Cape Town, South Africa, from today till the 15th of May, for a high-level meeting on health. The meeting brings together Chairpersons of Health and Finance Committees from across Anglophone Africa. Coordinated by the Global TB Caucus and local partners, including SANAC, the meeting aims to boost political commitment, improve health systems, and secure financing for TB response.  TB remains one of the deadliest killers in society after the World Health Organization revealed in March that a total of 1.23 million people died from TB in 2024. Peter Ndoro spoke to Lord Nick Herbert, a Member of the UK House of Lords and Global TB Caucus Co-Founder

A report by South African Bureau of Market Research, Economists have warned weaker growth, higher inflationary pressure and a more cautious interest rate environment as global risks continue to weigh on the economic outlook. Forecasts from the latest Economist of the Year Competition indicate that South Africa's real Gross Domestic Product growth for 2026 has been revised down to 1.3 percent, while inflation is expected to rise to 3.9 percent. The outlook is being shaped largely by ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which are driving volatility in global oil markets and raising concerns about sustained cost pressures. Tsepiso Makwetla spoke to Professor Carel van Aardt, Chief Operating Officer at Bureau of Market Research
