Senior parliamentarians, ministers, and global health leaders are gathering in Cape Town, South Africa, from today till the 15th of May, for a high-level meeting on health. The meeting brings together Chairpersons of Health and Finance Committees from across Anglophone Africa. Coordinated by the Global TB Caucus and local partners, including SANAC, the meeting aims to boost political commitment, improve health systems, and secure financing for TB response. TB remains one of the deadliest killers in society after the World Health Organization revealed in March that a total of 1.23 million people died from TB in 2024.
