South Africa's department of water and sanitation has denied that delays in the Lesotho highlands water project are exacerbating the country's water crisis.
Phase two of the project will see a third dam built to add to the other two dams in Lesotho, but construction for this dam was delayed for nine years. Big provinces in the country have been imposing water restrictions but the department responsible says there is no risk of taps running dry.
