Amnesty International has condemned the arrest of Daniel Ojukwu a Nigerian journalist working with the Foundation for Investigative Journalism.

Ojukwu was arrested recentlyin Lagos - after police accused him of violating the country's cyber-crime laws.

He's been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre. Ojukwu's arrest is reportedly linked to an investigative story he reported last November involving a senior government official.Amnesty International has described his detention as draconian.

As Africa's Travel Indaba approaches, attention is not only on major tourism brands, but also on the small and growing tourism businesses that are helping shape authentic visitor experiences across KwaZulu-Natal. One of those businesses is ING Travel & Tours, a Durban-based tour operating company that offers experiences ranging from cultural and township tours to wildlife and historical attractions across the province. Durban tourism startup ING Travel & Tours prepares to showcase local experiences at Africa’s Travel Indaba

Senior parliamentarians, ministers, and global health leaders are gathering in Cape Town, South Africa, from today till the 15th of May, for a high-level meeting on health. The meeting brings together Chairpersons of Health and Finance Committees from across Anglophone Africa. Coordinated by the Global TB Caucus and local partners, including SANAC, the meeting aims to boost political commitment, improve health systems, and secure financing for TB response.  TB remains one of the deadliest killers in society after the World Health Organization revealed in March that a total of 1.23 million people died from TB in 2024. Peter Ndoro spoke to Lord Nick Herbert, a Member of the UK House of Lords and Global TB Caucus Co-Founder
