A political storm is brewing in Zambia over the government's push to advance the controversial Bill 7, a move critics say could plunge the country into a constitutional crisis. Opponents warn that forcing the bill through Parliament without a broad national consensus and in defiance of a Constitutional Court order risks concentrating unprecedented power in the Executive and undermining the democratic principles that have anchored Zambia's governance for decades.

Supporters, however, argue that the reforms are necessary and legally grounded.
