Zambia has announced the detection of Polio virus found in the capital, Lusaka. The last case of polio in Zambia was in 1995 but this record is now at stake after the detection of Poliovirus. Our Zambia Correspondent Arthur Davies Sikopo reports that the detection of Polio is now adding to the already existing threats in the region following detection of similar types in Malawi, Zimbabwe, Angola and Namibia.

Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum has praised the armed forces for the operation that killed one of the country's top drug lord, known as El Mencho. Cartel members unleashed a wave of violence following El Mencho's death. Sheinbaum has lambasted the group for torching businesses and erecting burning blockades in retaliation to the killing of their leader. For a look at the rise in criminal cartels taking over entire police structures in countries such as Mexico, Haiti and most recently, in South Africa, Tsepiso Makwetla spoke to Anti-Terrorism Specialist and Global Security Analyst, Dr. Dickson Osajie
