Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum has praised the armed forces for the operation that killed one of the country's top drug lord, known as El Mencho. Cartel members unleashed a wave of violence following El Mencho's death. Sheinbaum has lambasted the group for torching businesses and erecting burning blockades in retaliation to the killing of their leader.
