South Africa responds to exclusion from upcoming G20 engagements

View descriptionShare

South Africa has reaffirmed its stance amid a diplomatic rift over its exclusion from upcoming G20 engagements. This follows the announcement by the current G20 Chair, the United States, that Poland will occupy South Africa's seat at next week's Ministerial Sherpa Meeting in Miami.

Briefing the media in Pretoria on Wednesday on the outcomes of the Cabinet meeting held last Friday, Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni emphasised that South Africa remains available to participate and called on G20 members to uphold the integrity of the forum's founding principles.
