South Africa Prepares for Another Day of Mass Protest Action South Africa is bracing for another day of mass protest action as March and March prepares to take to the streets on Wednesday, 30 September.

The movement had set September 30th as a nationwide day of mass action and protest targeting illegal immigration, crime, and gender-based violence.

Following an earlier mobilisation on June 30, the anti-immigration group set date as an unofficial deadline demanding that undocumented foreign nationals leave South Africa, under the theme "It's time to fetch your people.

South Africa Prepares for Another Day of Mass Protest Action

The  Chairperson of the African Union High-Level Ad Hoc Committee on South Sudan (C5) who is also South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa delivered the closing remarks at the virtual meeting of the African Union C5 on South Sudan.

When addressing the attendees he commended President, Salva Kiir  Mayardit and leadership of of South Sudan for what he described as their commitment to bringing peace and stability to the country.

He said that as the African Union Member States they have a collective responsibility to support South Sudan, to overcome its challenges and achieve its national vision of unity, peace and prosperity.

One organisation working to make this a reality is African Women in Processing, or AWIP Uganda.

Through initiatives such as the FAHARI Women-Led Industrial Parks Programme, it aims to help women move from small-scale enterprises into value-added manufacturing by providing access to markets, factory space, machinery, finance, and skills development.
