South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has urged stronger economic ties between South Africa and Brazil, by telling investors that the two countries should position themselves as strategic gateways to each other's regional markets. Speaking at the Brazil–South Africa Business Forum during his state visit to Brazil on Monday, Ramaphosa said South Africa could serve as Brazil's entry point into African markets under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), while Brazil could act as South Africa's gateway into Latin America.
