Today, we are turning our focus to a groundbreaking cultural bridge being built between South Africa and Central America. This amazing initiative is the brain child of the Muholi Art Institute, which was founded by the world-renowned visual activist, Prof. Zanele Muholi. The Institute officially launched its first international Artist-in-Residence programme in Panama, a dynamic collaboration with the Casa Santa Ana Foundation. According to the establishment, the initiative more than just an art exhibition; it is a 'Mobile AiR' initiative that fuses South African rhythms, operatic traditions, and visual activism with Panamanian narratives. Over the next two weeks, a collective of South African dancers, opera singers, and photographers, including figures like choreographer, Lusanda Dayimani and opera singer Phumla , will be conducting intensive workshops and 'PhotoXP' training sessions in Panama City.
