Venezuela has accused the United States of the "greatest extortion" during an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council (UNSC) held on Tuesday, condemning Washington's seizure of two Venezuelan oil tankers as worse than piracy. The session was convened by Slovania under the request of Venezuela supported by other UN member States to address the recent interceptions off Venezuela's coast, as the US confirmed it was also pursuing a third tanker, amid fresh accusations from US President Donald Trump that President Nicolás Maduro is linked to drug trafficking and criminal gangs. Belgium has formally joined South Africa's genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), almost two years since the case was filed. Belgium now joins other countries, including Brazil, Colombia, Ireland, Mexico, Spain and Turkiye. The family of late former Zambian President, Edgar Lungu has welcomed the decision by South Africa's Supreme Court of Appeal, granting them leave to appeal a previous High Court ruling that favored the Zambian government's bid to repatriate Lungu's remains for a state funeral. The Lungu family turned to the appellate court after a full bench of the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria ruled that  Zambia is entitled to repatriate Lungu's remains for the purposes of  a State funeral and Burial. His remains are in South Africa, following his death in June at a South African hospital. For more on what the next steps will be for the Lungu family, Tsepiso Makwetla spoke to Spokesperson, Makebi Zulu
