South Africa's Health Ombud, Professor Taole Mokoena has revealed that in the past financial year of 2024/2025 his office received over three thousand seven hundred complaints from members of the public regarding the poor quality of care they receive at various health facilities in the country. However he emphasized that 40% were out of their scope and were referred to organisations such as the South Africa Nursing Council and Health Professions Council of South Africa.
