A new report by leading aid organisations, including the Norwegian Refugee Council, Action Against Hunger, CARE International, International Rescue Committee, and Mercy Corps, paints a devastating picture of life in Sudan, where war is pushing millions toward famine. The report reveals that families are surviving on one meal a day or less, often relying on dangerous journeys across active frontlines just to access food. After nearly three years of conflict, the country's food system has been systematically dismantled, with farms destroyed, markets disrupted, and communities left to survive through extraordinary resilience. Mpho Sithole spoke to Mathilde Vu, Advocacy Manager, at the Norwegian Refugee Council who is in Darfur.
