Malawi's High Court in Lilongwe on Wednesday afternoon delivered a final ruling blocking the extradition of self-proclaimed prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife, Mary, to South Africa. The 175-page judgment outlines the reasons behind the court's earlier decision to throw out an extradition order issued by the Chief Resident Magistrate's Court.
The ruling deals a major blow to South Africa's efforts to bring the couple back to face charges including money laundering, fraud, forgery, alleged rape, and jumping bail.
