Ethiopia has announced that it foiled a large-scale terrorist plot aimed at destabilising the country ahead of its upcoming general elections. Authorities say weapons, explosives, and funding channels were found.
The National Election Board of Ethiopia has confirmed that more than 46 million voters have registered for the June 1 polls, out of a population of around 130 million. With thousands of polling stations prepared and registration extended to boost participation, the focus now shifts to whether Ethiopia can deliver a credible, inclusive, and secure election.
