Concerns have been raised over press freedom in East Africa after the Congress of African Journalists condemned the reported shutdown of Nation Media Group offices in Uganda by security forces. The organisation says the move amounts to a serious violation of press freedom and restricts citizens’ access to information, warning of a growing pattern of pressure and attacks on journalists and media houses across the region.
