The 59th session of the Commission on Population and Development began today in New York, United States. The session is expected to spotlight population, technology and research in the context of sustainable development.
In her address at the session, South Africa’s Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Mmapaseka Steve Letsike, called for increased investment in research, data and innovation, as well as universal access to sexual and reproductive health and rights.
