As the continent marks the 25th anniversary of the African Union’s development vision, attention is turning to how innovation and emerging technologies can accelerate progress under NEPAD and the long-term blueprint of Agenda 2063. Central to this discussion is the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in transforming governance, economic development, healthcare, education and infrastructure across Africa.

To discuss this further, Mpho Sithole spoke to the Director of Infrastructure at AUDA-NEPAD, Amine Idriss.
