A new, interactive digital report launched shows that the number of hungry people in Africa continues to rise, spurred by conflict, climate change and economic slowdowns including those triggered by COVID-19.

The African Union Commission, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UN), and the UN Economic Commission for Africa, launched the digital report as the latest update to their annual reporting on the state of food security and nutrition in Africa.

South Africa's iconic, James Hall Museum will wrap up Youth month by hosting yet another youth festival, the Aluta Nova Festival of Museums, on Saturday 25 June 2022.

The festival, which is one of Johannesburg's signature programs, aims to promote and market museums in the City of Joburg as places of attraction.

Now is its second year, Aluta Nova encourages a museum going culture amongst young people by honouring history and heritage through contemporary culture.

Research shows that there is a severe shortage of vets and paraveterinary professionals in South Africa.

Internationally, the norm is to have between 200-400 vets per million of the country's population, but South Africa has around 60 to 70 vets per million.

To address this skills shortage, the Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority (HWSETA), will launch a Veterinary Career Guidance Awareness Programme in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The screening of award-winning director, Frank Orji's latest short film "The Wrong Girl" took place in April 2022 in Rosebank, South Africa.

Produced in conjunction with AACA Film and Acting School, the film is about an undercover Hawks agent who gets herself kidnapped by three amateur thugs to infiltrate and take down a vicious human trafficking operation.

According to Orji, the twists and turns in the film are what makes the story intriguing.
