Research shows that there is a severe shortage of vets and paraveterinary professionals in South Africa.
Internationally, the norm is to have between 200-400 vets per million of the country's population, but South Africa has around 60 to 70 vets per million.
To address this skills shortage, the Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority (HWSETA), will launch a Veterinary Career Guidance Awareness Programme in Johannesburg, South Africa.
