50 Years of Deadly: My NAIDOC Reflections

View descriptionShare

In this special episode of Access Granted, Lowanna Grant reflects on the significance of NAIDOC Week and this year's theme, 50 Years of Deadly. Sharing what NAIDOC means to her, Lowanna celebrates the strength, resilience and achievements of First Nations people, while honouring the Elders and trailblazers who have paved the way.

At the heart of the episode is a personal story about her Pop, Stan Grant Snr, whose lifetime of work reclaiming and revitalising the Wiradjuri language was recognised with the 2022 National NAIDOC Lifetime Achievement Award. It's a moving conversation about legacy, culture and the responsibility of the next generation to continue building on the foundations laid by those who came before us.
