When Sandra Donally of Staffordshire, England, suddenly lost her hearing due to a rare condition, she was matched with a specially trained hearing dog named Storm. Since then, Storm has been much more than a companion — he's been a true lifesaver for the family.

One night, just after midnight, Sandra was asleep when Storm jumped onto the bed and refused to leave. Unable to hear what was happening, Sandra immediately sensed that Storm was trying to tell her something. She followed the determined pup out into the hallway and discovered a frightening scene: her husband, Gary, had suffered a serious fall down the stairs and was lying unconscious at the bottom.

Because Storm raised the alarm, Sandra was able to call for help right away. Emergency crews rushed Gary to the hospital, where he spent 24 days recovering from his injuries. Thankfully, he has since returned home, and Sandra says she'll always be grateful to the heroic dog whose quick actions helped save her husband's life.
