It's Group Therapy Thursday time! 

Dear Ted and Amy,
My husband was a big lacrosse player all through school and it turned into a year round sport for him – travel teams, camps, you name it, he did it. And of course he really liked it and has such great memories of the games and bonding with the players. The problem is that he is really pushing my middle school son to do the same thing. The more I look into it, the more it seems like kids should not be thrown into one specific sport, but try a bunch of them throughout the year and see which one THEY like. Experts say a focus on a single sport increases injuries and burnout and the kids can end up hating the sport that they spent so much time perfecting. I think my son should try whatever he wants and try different sports when the new season comes up. Are there any other parents who are going through similar issues as we head into a new school year?
