Malcolm Turnbull has triggered a political outcry for the second time in a week, calling the AUKUS pact a 'terrible deal'. The former prime minister hit out as doubts over whether Australia will bank on the nuclear submarines deal grow.
Gante.
Malcolm speaks his mind.
Orcas is a terrible deal. Again, we have no guarantee that we'll ever get any submarines.
The nuclear powered submarine USS Minnesota visiting Perth under Orcus Australia plans to buy up to five of the ultra stealthy subs. Malcolm Turnbull argues America can't supply its own navy, let alone Australia's, so Orcus will finish up harming our security, wasting billions and pleasing President Trump.
So people say, does dot will Donald Trump like it? Well, of course he'd like it. It's such a bad deal for us. His only thing he'd be back of his Money'll be thinking who are these dumb guys that agreed to this deal?
Then PM Scott Morrison set up ORCUS. Opposition Leader Peter Dutton's backs it. I think the need for Orcus is greater than ever. Both are old Turnbull minister who then dumped him as Prime minister. Though others warn this goes way beyond the Liberal Party. John Blaxland calls the Turnbull comments active sabotage.
These kind of pronouncements by a former prime minister will resonate really badly.
In Washington and inside the Labor Party, a growing anti Yorkist group now says it has scores of branches opposing.
The stupid idea that was thought up by, you know, the Morrison government.
