Treasurer Jim Chalmers would deliver the Abaneasy government's budget tonight with massive impacts for every Australian that's going out to Isabel Mullen and Canberra. Is he This is a very important day, doctor Chalmers. Four budgets so far, probably the most important.

It is Eddie, good morning. The budget will set out the government's agenda and with the election potentially now just weeks away, it could impact how people vote. After two back to back budget surpluses, tonight we are expecting to see a deficit of around twenty six point nine billion dollars. So at the heart of this budget will be cost of living relief. We have seen a range of those measures already announced. Importantly, the centerpiece of that budget will be the Energy Bill relief rebates of one hundred and fifty dollars extended until the end of the year. Whether we like it or not, Donald Trump will actually have an impact on this budget after he slapped those tariffs of twenty five percent on our aluminium and steal exports to the United States. We are expecting to see some investments in by local A Bye Australian campaign released in the budget tonight He's also asked Australia to increase our defense spend to three percent of GDP, so it will be interesting to see how the federal government responds. We have seen the Defense Minister, Richard Miles announced in the last couple of days that we will be increasing our defense spend to ten billion dollars. He says that's the biggest investment in defense since the end of the Second World War. We will hear from the opposition in that Budget reply speech and hear what policies, what ideas they have for cost of living relief.

Eddie, thank you, is Hee
