Rumours began to swirl earlier this week that the Ottawa Senators might be for sale. Those rumours became legitimate in a team press release on Friday, but the Melnyk family insists that any potential deal would not include relocation. They want to keep the Senators in Canada’s Capital. And while a famous Canadian actor might be interested in purchasing the 30-year-old club, economist Moshe Lander says a local ownership group is the best path forward. He also adds the proposed development at Lebreton Flats could be the deciding factor, pointing out recent financing issues in Calgary and Arizona.
