Celyn Harding-Jones has had a colloid cyst in her brain for 19 years, and in recent years her symptoms and struggles with the condition have worsened, forcing her to leave her job and find new treatment options.

A potential surgical route was found in New York, but with a hefty $170,000 USD price tag, Harding-Jones turned to RAMQ, the province's health insurance board, which rejected her claim.

In its reasoning, the RAMQ told Harding-Jones that endoscopic surgeries are offered at the CHUM. However, doctors at that hospital considered the surgery too risky.

She joins Vassy Kapelos to talk about her experience with the condition and crowdfunding the cost.
