The temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas will continue until at least Thursday morning Israel time. The government there has said it intends to resume the war once that is over, but there will be pressure from multiple angles to avoid that.

CTV Military Analyst Ret. Maj-Gen. David Fraser says Qatar and the international community have done great work in ensuring the truce continued and hostages released, and given the severity of the damage and death so far, will now be looking at exit routes or pushing for no further combat.
