Ottawa Now – ‘There was no logic behind it’: Family members react to the city’s reversal on long-term care window visit ban as provider Revera faces class-action lawsuit over COVID-19 outbreaks

View descriptionShare

Long-term care provider Revera is facing a $50 million class action lawsuit claiming the company did not have proper sanitation protocols or testing in place for people living in its facilities. Carlingview Manor, Ottawa’s hardest-hit long-term care facility, is one of a handful of homes Revera operates in our city. Ottawa lawyer Daniel Nasrallah has been outspoken about issues facing long-term care residents since his grandfather was assaulted in a local long-term care home. Diana Pepin’s mother also lives in long-term care. They join Kristy Cameron on Ottawa Now to discuss the lawsuit, the city’s ban on window visits, and more.
