Five new areas in Canada’s Capital have been designated as ‘community hazard zones’ by the OSTA. As part of the incoming changes, bus service will be extended to roughly 60 additional students who live within the newly identified zones. The Ottawa Student Transportation Authority has cited ongoing social and environmental concerns as the primary reasons that fueled this decision. It is represented at City Hall by Rideau-Vanier councillor Stephanie Plante, who is proud to see that this long-standing request in her ward is finally being addressed.
